desperately need a getaway....so we booked a trip to sanya and stay at the mandarin oriental for 3 days. The resort is so amazing in many ways and the service they delivered is way beyond our expectation!!

i can stay there all day just looking at the sea

i am now using the new hp touchpad to write this entry, i should consider myself very lucky because my friend is able to get me 2 touchpads, one 16gb which I will give it to my mom as a gift, and a 32gb which i am using right now.

we will be having our appraisals done by the end of this month, a member in my team is not performing very well lately and i really do hope i can remind her so that some improvements can be made before the appraisals. bad attendance records, takes lunch for over 1 hour constantly, too much chit chats / socializing with others.....

besides me, our boss is also paying special attention to her. one false move and she's a goner.

apart from work. someone told me that now crabtree & evelyn has a restaurant...wtf? and this restaurant is a hip place for high tea. i called in to make reservations and it's all fully booked until july. again....wtf??? i've made reservations anyways and i will post photos up here later (in july)

our 5-day trip to bangkok was a blast, i was surprised at the variety of furniture brands and the designs they have there. seeing so many pretty things makes me very happy. oh we were thrilled to be at dean & deluca and we love their coffee!

trip ended and now i am back to work......there are more events coming up: dinner with an old friend / oyster shucking class / macau trip. i am so looking forward to all of them!

buying the nespresso machine is a right choice, every morning before i go to work, i would make myself a nice cup of coffee. it's so easy to use/clean and the quality of the coffee is not bad.

a good friend is visiting from the states and we will be heading to macau for the weekend. so looking forward to the trip. oh and will be going to bangkok next weekend. can't wait. :)

i desperately need a vacation as work is getting tougher and tougher each day. several months ago our company decided to cut cost and laid off a few staff. it seems our business is back on track and maybe it's time for me to propose to add back some head counts. will see.

the apartment is very nice and both of us liked it very much. now we are waiting for the papers and we will have this place next february.

i have finally decided to fire this girl. deep down in my heart i know it's the right decision, but somehow i keep on asking myself what went wrong. was it my fault? or she really deserves to be fired? i've tried to give her guidelines and tasks to follow and when her performance was not up to my standard, i had her in the meeting room to discuss what needed to be improved.... a second chance was given but does she deserve a third chance?

after a month and a half of torture, i've finally given up. sometimes...you gotta do what you gotta do.

have been back to the work force for almost 2 weeks and so far everything's fine....except i have to work overtime alot, but i don't mind. i have no plans on travelling for the next few months becase i am saving all the annual leaves for later......i am planning to go back to t dot for a visit in july or august next year.

i've been living in hk for 8 years now and it would be nice to go back to refresh my memory......and this time i am bringing marco with me. there's so much i want to show him, where i used to hang out at the university, where i used to live, meeting my relatives and especially my grandmother. my grandmother is 90 years old and i am sure she would be thrilled to see i bring along my husband to visit her. :)

not in a good mood for the past 2 days because of this stupid fucking bass player.

i know the general reaction would be to say, SCREW him, who cares of what he thinks. but the truth is, it really bothers me because this stupid fucker and his loser friends are accusing me of something that i didn't say (well, i don't even know what exactly his friends said to him). for god sake, i don't even know much about him!!

to have this fucker called marco twice to complain about his anger just annoys me. and to some extend....i do feel sorry for this guy cuz he have friends like that.

and even after marco explained the case to him, he was too stubborn to realize the truth and was so convinced that i was the wrong party here. honestly i don't really know what's his point of calling us twice if he doesn't believe us???

it takes us 4 hours of bus ride to get to the earth buildings, by the time we arrive, it's already 12pm and we are starving!! we will still need to walk a bit to get there....can't wait to get into the village, we will have local cookings for lunch!!

still some way to go before we get to the village, it's getting near.....so exciting...

a village dog.....sleeping comfortably under the warm sun....

the color of the sky is so blue, i like it!

my long vacation will start very soon, i am very excited about this.

1st stop - Harbin and the nearby provinces, confirmed.

besides traveling, i will need time to do some thinking about what i want to do with myself; should i go back to school? explore other career opportunities? start my own business? what makes me happy? etc.....

i have left these questions unanswered for too long, trying to avoid them by occupying myself with work and stuff. maybe it's time to start something new....

it was so crowded and we couldn't get in.....we walked all the way to the back side of the stage....a normal 5 min walk ended up taking over 40 mins!

after doing 2 months of research, i've finally started my own "online business". maybe i shouldn't call this a business yet, because it's still at a preliminary stage (i've only started for about a week), and because i am just selling stuff on yahoo auction....can it still be called a business?

so far i've received good feedbacks and have already obtained several stable and nice buyers who will buy in large quantities. the only thing that i worried now is i don't get enough goods to sell. haha...

i will not go into details of what i am selling in this blog. all i wish is that my "business" will continue to grow.

life has been super busy for me lately cuz i have my own "business" now, and i am still keeping my full time job.....so far i can still handle both "jobs" alright...but will see... wish me luck! :P

Trip to see the Hakka Tulou (earth buildings) - part 2

the second day.....we walk around jimei area and i am amazed at their university buildings, they look so nice! :)

and this is where university students practice for dragon boat racing.....ewww....i wouldn't dare swimming in there...

after that we visit the nan-pu-tuo temple. this temple has been around for over a 100 years, it's very famous (as you can see it's very very crowded)

we walk behind the temple and found a big golden word "budda" carved on a huge stone. pretty nice... i want to take a closer look but it's getting more crowded, luckily i have my 20x zoom camera... :)but too bad i also zoom in on the people's faces..... :P

how can we be sure we are making the right choices? friends and family will try to tell you what to do with your life, parents will go further and try to direct your future.

no, i am not sure if i am making the right choices, sometimes i can only listen to my heart and follow my gut feeling.

in the very beginning, i admit i did have doubts about it. even my family gave me lots of pressure about it. but during the past 2 years, you had given me strength and helped me understand that i am making the right choice, we are now gradually getting closer to my goal (or i should say....our goal).

and i ought to thank you for every thing you have done for me.

last week i accidentally discovered his blog, all his blog entries are about superstitious stuff like tarrot card readings, predicting exam results / job hunting.

sorry if i sounded mean, but i strongly believed i made the right choice. i look down on superstitious people who need to rely on tarrot card / palm readings...etc.. to make their deicisions. thinking of marrying mr. wrong and have to tolerate superstitious stuff just makes me shiver!!

Trip to see the Hakka Tulou (earth buildings) - part 1

my friend shirley and i spent 4 days in fujian, the main purpose of this trip was to see the famous earth buildings. the earth buildings in the fujian province have been inscribed in the world heritage site list, and i've always longed to see one of them. the 4-day trip was great, really interesting (despite the 8-hour bus ride getting to the tulous). :P

the first day......visiting the chen jia geng tomb at jimei.

從1913年起，陳嘉庚開始在他的家鄉集美捐資興學，陸續辦起中小學、師範、商業、水產、航海、農業等許多學校。1921年，他又創辦了廈門大學，這是當時福建省唯一的大學。僅1921年到1937年這16年中，他就負擔了廈門大學的開辦費和經常費達400萬元。他逝世前在國內存款共300多萬元，全部捐獻給國家，用作發展教育事業。他一生為教育事業捐獻的錢有相當一部分是在他經濟困難的時候資助的，當他辦的公司已經被迫停業的情況下，他仍向銀行借款，來維持學校的生存。
　　陳嘉庚個人生活很儉樸。在抗戰期間和解放前夕，他在集美村的私宅兩次遭到破壞。但他用了800萬元去修理和增建集美校舍，卻始終不肯重建他的私人住宅。陳嘉庚晚年住在集美學校辦事處樓上一間很普通的房間，辦公桌椅及其它用品都非常簡樸陳舊，沒有一件奢侈品。他的工作室裏有一張舊沙發，他堅持不換新的，只讓換一換坐墊，還親自找來一塊小木板，需要時擱在扶手上，作為活動書寫板，他晚年常在這塊木板上寫作。
　　1950年，廈門大學開始擴建，陳嘉庚常到廈大瞭解和指導工作。在那裏，他同工作人員吃一樣的飯菜。即使有中央領導同志到來，他也不設華筵，僅備“炒米粉”等地方風味的菜飯招待客人。
　　陳嘉庚是第一位把政治、經濟、社會、文化各方面活動集于一身的華僑，毛澤東曾讚譽他是“華僑旗幟、民族光輝”。

Mabuhay Bohol!! - part 5

we are supposed to go to balicasag island for snorkeling.....however it's too windy (apparently a typhoon is coming).... the weather is not suitable for snorkeling.... therefore we stayed on the island to do some reading.....walked along the beach..... had a relaxing late lunch.... and head back to the city... :(

wavy sea......and the sky is getting dark.... can't do snorkeling......

this is the special balicasag sandwich....it's salty and sweet.... taste kinda funny... :P

later that night, we went on a firefly hunt!! this is our boat.....

the sky is getting real dark..... and the weather is kinda chilly..... all of a sudden...we see thousands and thousands of fireflies glowing on the trees!! can you see them?

Mabuhay Bohol!! - part 4

before visiting that special animal, we are going to pretend to be it... :)

this is the reason i want to go to bohol....to see the tarsiers!!!

and i get to hold one, feed it, touch it and put it on my head... :)

these nocturnal creatures are so timid and gentle, and they have soft fur and a light voice. so cute, i want to have one as a pet!!!

after visiting the tarsiers, we go to a butterfly sanctuary....

the caterpillars are so fat and cute!

there are so many butterflies!! the guide shows us a special butterfly, which gives out chocolate scent when being threatened..... and it knows how to play dead too!! so amazing!

Mabuhay Bohol!! - part 3

this is our 1st sight-seeing day!!

first we are going to visit the blood compact site, it's the first act of diplomacy between asia and the west.....

next we go to the baclayon church.....

the church was built in 1595 with coral stones, check out the interior.....

too bad we couldn't arrange to visit this church during the weekend, or else we would be able to listen to the famous choir in this church... :(

last stop for the day.... we visit the famous chocolate hills!! the attraction is composed of 1,268 cone-shaped hills of about the same size, and it has been included in the world heritage list!

during the dry season, the grass-covered hills will dry up and turn into chocolate brown. therefore the people call it chocolate hills. we come here during the wet season and they don't look like chocolate to us. but still, it is a magnificent view.

Mabuhay Bohol!! - part 2

by the time we arrived bohol it was already 3 or 4 in the afternoon. after unpacking our stuff, we went to check out the resort.

check out the sea view from the pool!!

these chairs are all around the pool...good good....we can enjoy the sun....

walk around the pool and there are stairs that led to the beach! check out the view....just love it!

on the far end of the beach, there are alot of resorts, restaurants and tourist centers. we booked our tours at the tourist centers, and then we had dinner at the beach.

look at all the fresh seafood, the prices are so cheap, we decided to order a lobster, some kebab and a lapu-lapu fish.

this is the lapu lapu, it's what we called garrupa in english. the fish looks overcook but it actually taste very good!!!

i like having my dinner at the beach....the sound of the waves...sea breeze....wonderful...

i've only been to philippines with my parents when i was young, and it would be a great idea to refresh my memory. at first we wanted to go to boracay cuz the white long beaches there are just gorgeous. however it is not a good time to go during the month of august. there are major cleaning of the beaches during august and the view won't be as nice as other times of the year. therefore we chose bohol instead.

similar to boracay, bohol is an island locates in the central visayas region. it is very close to cebu, we could've visited the cebu as well but we thought we should concentrate on bohol this time. we can go to cebu next time.. :)

i've never been to bohol before, i've only heard of the place from my part-time filipino maid. not alot of people have been to this island in hong kong and there are no guidebooks i could find in the bookstores. all the info i found about bohol was from the internet....i was kinda worried about our trip.... but it turns out GREAT!!

there are no direct flights to bohol, we had to transfer flight from manila. this is the tagbilaran airport, tagbilaran is the capital of bohol....

i've never been to an airport smaller than this.....it can hold max. of two planes.... and there is only one carousel...hahaha....

after attending 2 free classes offered by pure yoga, my friend and i decided to join the club and start learning yoga.

since we are beginners, we will not be doing crazy stuff like hot yoga or power yoga. i guess we will start off with basic stuff like hatha yoga, yin yoga and yoga therapy. we had our first yoga therapy class yesterday and it was really great, i feel so relaxed and my muscle stiffness is gone!!

i don't know how long will i stick into this, but i am planning to do yoga on a regular basis.

btw their yoga center at langham place is very nice.... i am very glad that i made this decision and join the club... :)

Alicia Keys concert in Hong Kong

you cannot imagine how excited i was when i first heard the news that alicia keys is coming to hk!!! i woke up at 8am in the morning trying to get good tix on the first day of sale. and of course we got the best seats, alicia keys is worth every penny!!

surprisingly we are allowed to bring cameras and take photos throughout the concert, damn...i should've brought a better camera!!!

i almost cried when she sang my fav song!! *sop*

we are so lucky to have free tickets to see this concert. al jarreau is already 68 years old and he still sings very good....his ability to sing in such precision of tone just amazed me. and george benson, one of the greatest jazz guitarist in history, oh i just can't get enough of his solos!!

we are far away from the stage...but hey...tickets are free.... :)

towards the end of our vietnam trip, we still need to visit the famous jesus hill. we climbed so many stairs to get up the hill!!

we also went to the pier at vung tau, so quiet and peaceful....

there are several chinese temples in cholon (the chinatown district of old saigon), this is thien hau pagoda, dedicated to the sea goddess thien hau.

we are going to visit the cu chi tunnels today, they are an immense network of connecting underground tunnels used during the vietnam war as hiding spots. the vietnamese fighters also used them as communication and supply routes. inside the tunnels, you can also find hospitals, food and weapon caches and living quarters.

we took a 3-hour bus ride and get to the cu chi district, this is the entrance to the cu chi tunnels, looks very much like an ordinary country side, doesn't it?

a trap door on the ground that leads to the cu chi tunnels, it is almost undetectable. see how small the door is, you gotta be really thin to fit in it. trust me, i've tried, and i just fit! i wonder how the vietnamese soldiers did it. they are amazing!

to overcome the lack of basic resources, the soldiers make booby traps with bamboo spikes. very brilliant and effective!

one of the food that they made under limited resource, i believe these are made from rice and water. it's like rice paper but thicker, you can wrap veggies and meat with it.

this is one of the nicer entrance to the tunnels. the tunnels were very dark, narrow, have little air, i've been down that tunnel for 15 mins and i already feel abit suffocating. in the past the tunnels were invested with ants, poisonous centipedes, spiders and mosquitos. the living condition inside the tunnels is harsh. how could they live in it???

i truly respect these soldiers!! they are just amazing!

today we are visiting the war remnants museum in ho chi minh city, our friends warned us and they say it's going to be a heart-breaking experience.

we heard so much of the war and yet we knew so little about it. there are lots of photos and articles about the my lai massacre, how agent orange and bombs were used during the war.

it is very difficult for us to see the pain and tears the victims have to go through for this war, however i think this is a very good educational tour, this is something you cannot read in the history textbooks.

after arriving ho chi minh city, the first place that we go to, is a famous shopping district: dong khoi.

you can find lv and other famous brands there, but what interested us the most are those small shops along the streets, they sell vietnamese style clothings, dinning utensils, old watches, cute t-shirts....

and of course while we were shopping, we always keep an eye for vietnamese subs... but got no luck, all we can find are vendors selling snacks / coffee..... no subs!

it's almost 5:30pm and it's time to head back to the hotel to freshing up. what should we eat for dinner? i hope there are vietnamese sub vendors near the hotel.... on the way back to the hotel, we see some cute posters....and check out all those bikers..... the streets can be very crowded...

after our showers, we explore the area near our hotel, guess what we found?

i've lived in t dot for 12 years, and have developed an addiction to vietnamese subs. it was first introduced to me by my ex-bf, he is chinese, but was born and raised in vietnam. he told me that there are alot of v sub places in downtown t dot. so one day, we took the bus and then subway, took us like 2 hours to get to downtown, walked 30 mins to get to china town. and finally we reached spadina / dundas and found all those v sub stores. we picked one randomly and bought my first v sub for cad$1.5.

i can still remember my first bite, it was like a taste of heaven!

for the people who is reading this entry and had tried it before, i am sure you would agree that i am not exaggerating!

finding good v subs is hard if you live in hong kong. there is a pretty good store near jordan, but the location is a bit remote, and the taste of their v subs is just like... i don't know... it just doesn't taste right.

i've got to find v subs that taste right! i've got to go to vietnam!! and so my quest for the authentic v subs begins....

ever since i moved out from home, i tidy my place so much more often and i actually feel guilty about it cuz i used to make messes at home and my mom had to tolerate my messiness.

ever since i got married, i start to learn home cooking and traditional chinese soup, and i feel guilty because seems like i never cooked one decent meal for my mom.

ever since i got another cat (i have 2 cats now), i enjoy stay at home more often to spend time with them, and i feel guilty because i used to hang out with friends all the time, and i seldom stay at home to accompany my mom.

ever since i got my laptop, i spent less time on the internet, and i feel guilty because my mom and i used to share one computer, when my mom said she wants to use it, i will tell her that i need to stay online all the time.

ever since i got married. i developed a strong hatred towards myself.

mother's day is coming, right now i just want to find a good time to cook a meal for my mother.

yay, we are finally heading to LV! got up very early in the morning, and we need to wait for the shuttle bus.

on the way to LV, we stopped at another outlet mall!

the only thing that attracted us to go to vegas are the SHOWS!! the ceiling inside bellagio's O theatre...

i really want to take a look at the school that marco goes to, so we spent one day in downtown hollywood. everyone thinks that hollywood is so glamorous but actually this place is just plain boring.

hollywood = (just a few theatres + several lame wax museums + boring walk of fame + a tiny shopping mall + alot of weirdos)

virgin records megastore, the only place in downtown hollywood that i enjoy shopping at.

we spent a wonderful afternoon wandering / shopping at pasadena. there are alot of nice / unique shops there. i spent over 2 hours in a book shop and finally found 2 books that i want! couldn't find them in hk and can't believe i can find them here!!

this is one of my favorite quotes of all time, it's so true, why would you hang out with losers who offer you nothing but heartaches / headaches? why hang out with losers who want to drag everyone down into their misery of insecurity. why not join the winners and have a good time?

call me arrogant but when you only hang out with people whose behaviour towards you you can no longer tolerate, what else are you going to do but to distance yourself?

there are so many more nice, successful people in the world who are not the assholes worthy of scorn, but rather people we all admire as role models. those successful people also distance themselves from losers.

mind you, the dimension of interest is not winner vs. loser, but asshole vs. forthright.

i am not arrogant, this is basic self-protection.

three months went by, and now the long wait is over.

for these 3 months, i've been eating mac d at least 3 times a week. for the rest of the meals, i either cook instant noodles, or i eat out with friends.

you have no idea how much i miss your cooking!!!!

a simple but tasty meal cooked by my hubby. i am not a lazybum, i helped out! you see the brocoli? it was me who washed them. you see the eggs? i seasoned them and mixed them! i am the sous chef! :P

how to test your friendship by annoying your friend to the max

believe it or not, we don't choose our friends. we don't go around consciously asking ourselves if the people we meet are worthy of our friendship. yes, we have absolutely no clue!

allow me to introduce you some simple methods to test your friends using msn and email, check their reactions, see if they are worthy.

1) your needs are more important than your friends' and you know your friends regularly set their msn status to busy or away even when they're working on unimportant stuff. if you catch them at the computer when they say they are busy, ask them what they are doing, what are they busying themselves with. why do they set their msn status to busy.

2) don't check whether your friends have time to chat. when they are reachable, they're all yours! email and msn whenever you can! they might answer you with friendly replies, but in fact they are trying to finish their work so they can go home earlier. there's no need to put yourself in their shoes, keep on emailing, keep on sending msn messages to them.

3) elevate your whining to an art form. complain about everything, whine from expensive rents, spent too much money on furnitures to painful hemorrhoids. consider msn as a way of getting personal therapy, don't hold your pain inside.

4) don't forget to email, msn and sms your friends, try to do it in the same day or same week. it really adds to the annoyance factor. make sure you reference information from the two other forms of communication, so they have to read your emails, msn and sms messages to follow along.

5) when your friends' reaction are not what you expected. make sure you confront them right back, don't pause to give them a chance to respond. start your confrontation by ask a question, and then ask another, or answer it yourself, and ask another one again. at this point, your friends might finally crack, but continue to yak yak yak about how hurt you are like an injured chihuahua. keep in mind that your friends must listen to you because you are never wrong.

by the time you finish using the above methods on your friends, i am positive you will have the answer, whether they are your true friends, or they are totally not worthy.

we took this at the beginning of the session. we each held a picture of what we were planning to draw. (i know i know, we cheated....we copied from other drawings...but hey! this was our first time!)

i used the sponge method to create my background.

killing scenarios i have in mind

in order to defeat the giant cockroach. i am trying to think of different scenarios so that i can better prepare myself for the kill.

1) make sure cockroach is on the ground, it's easier to aim that way. if cockroach is on the wall or climbing on an object, the object will get sprayed all over. and there is a good chance that cockroach will fly (now that, would be even more scarier...)

2) make sure i have enough ammo, it is very likely that this cockroach is very strong and can push itself out from the foam or chew itself out from the foam. when this really happened, i will need to spray more foam to wear its strength out.

3) make sure i have protective gear, like jacket...gloves...goggles with me. cockroaches in hong kong can fly! and when they fly, they often fly towards you. when that happens, cockroaches might land on you and crawl all over your body. therefore protective gear that cover up your whole body is very important.

4) most importantly, make sure i can find this freaking big can of death. or else i won't be able to do the killings at all!!

in my previous entry, i've mentioned that there is an enormous cockroach at my hubby's place, that thing is so huge (body length - 2 inches, wingspan - 2 inches), i am so scared of cockroaches, and i have no idea how to kill this monster.

i had given alot of thought on how to kill this thing, and all of a sudden, i remember my friend used to have a big can of death. raymond got this thing in jusco, although he said they don't sell it anymore, but i am going to check out the stores this weekend.

this big can of death is very different than the bug killers we normally get in stores. when you spray it, the foam will stick the insect to the ground, and then the foam will self-expand and will wrap up the whole insect. then the insect will slowly suffocate in it. after the foam dries out (after the insect dies), you can just easily peel it off and put the whole thing into the trash.

nice and easy eh?!

1.5 months to go! i am so looking forward to my trip to LA in september. gonna spend 3 weeks there, hubby will be waiting there for me, and we will travel around LA...and then mexico... and then las vegas. not to mention i got to hang out with my bbf, he is gonna fly all the way from t dot... and we will go to disneyland and universal studio together.

this is going to be one helluva trip!!

i hate cockroaches!

the weather in hk is getting so hot, and all the creepy crawlers are coming out from nowhere. cockroaches, geckos, worms, flies... you name it! last night i found an enormous cockroach in my hubby's bathroom, scared the shit out of me. i was alone in the house (hubby is in hollywood so no one could help me).

i ended up waiting outside the bathroom till 11:30pm ( i wanted to take a shower but the fxxking roach just won't leave the room)!!

i need my shower so i went all the way back to my own house. ended up staying there for the night as well.

i will never stay at hubby's place alone ever again!!

On the July 1st long weekend, I went to Macau for a short 2-day trip. When the “Experience Macau with VISA” leaflet was delivered to me on the TurboJet , I immediately discover the discount offers on Rocks Hotel – a hotel which I have been very interested in trying out due to its elegant décor and design, and the location its in which I believe it must be a tourist-friendly hotel.

Unfortunately, the service and the attitude of the hotel staff completely destroy the elegance disguise of the Victorian styled hotel. The trip we made to the hotel for VISA specials inquiry was a complete piss-off! My travel companion and I (also our friends which we have already told them the story) were very disappointed with this hotel and would not consider staying in thereafter.

Problems / issues we've come across and absolutely resentful:

1. Bell boy not opening door for guests.

2. This is what we overheard: hotel guests came to the lobby and asked if the taxi they booked earlier has arrived yet, the answer from the staff was “yes, it was here right at front but somebody else took it.” We were astonished. Hotel guests asked “what is the option now?”, “do you want to call a taxi?” the staff asked back.(!!!)

Questions, a) how come the hotel would let strangers on the street take away the taxi or vehicle which their guests have previously requested?

b) when they failed to keep the taxi for their guests who are supposed to be coming down to the lobby for it, isn’t it logical and professional to call for a substitute immediately?

c) is there any training for the hotel staff before they stand in the lobby “serving” guests which in fact I consider this is rubbish service – instead of keeping guests feel welcome and want to come back again, this kind of service simply kick business out of the way as it will only piss people off!

3. After what we saw and heard, we’re still optimistic about our inquiry – the VISA offer. I picked up the leaflet from the leaflet holder on the counter and asked one of the staff standing behind the service counter. She has no name tag on her uniform, and simply repeated my question with a period – “How can I use this special offer of HK$980 of one-night premier room accommodation with welcome drinks….. simply check-in and out with my VISA card?” “You can use this special offer of HK$980 of one-night premier room accommodation with welcome drinks….. simply check-in and out with my VISA card.” (!!!!!!!!!!) “When does this offer expire?” “where you see that? (I was flipping back and forth of the leaflet)” “ 19th of July.” I was pissed because I seriously don’t find them providing a service to me nor providing information that I was seeking for. Someone with a tag that says “Trainee” came out from the door behind the counter, the girl grabbed him over, he looked at the leaflet briefly, and asked politely (rather stupidly) is there anything I can help? I repeated my questions to him again! He answered the exact same way as the girl. At that time, I saw the ending date as Sept 30. “what makes you said that it expires on July 19th? What about here it says Sept 30th?” I questioned the “Trainee”. “It is Sept 30th then.” Answered the “Trainee”…… Make the long story short: after standing there questioning 3 staff, we’ve got no answers, Rocks Hotel staff do not know what their company is offering to the public!!!!! THEY ARE COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL. A COMPLETE IDIOT IMPRESSION TO GUESTS. We wouldn’t be this pissed if this is a hostel or no-star hotel.

4. Shuttle bus schedule. Yes, maybe they know the schedule briefly– every 30 mins. But this is not the answer when asked “when is the next shuttle bus service?” Finally when requested to have a check with the bus, staff answered, “no problem, I’ll go to check for you and inform you after” We were waiting outside of the hotel door, and when I saw the guy who came back to the counter and chatting with other staff, we’re pissed for the second time, we walked inside and asked what happened. He replied, "oh I've checked, and it is confirmed the bus has left." then grinned. "I thought you're coming out to inform us, if I wasn't looking at you, I would have to stand outside waiting for nothing?!"

To be honest, even local no-name noodle shops here in Hong Kong would not provide such "service" to clients.

This is absolutely a SHAME to the Macau hotel industry.

we are finally back from bali, and we had so much fun.

it was a memorable trip indeed, i can never imagine my wedding could be so private yet romantic, no need to worry of what other people think, no need to take care of other people's needs, with just the two of us, exchanging vows that no one can hear.

the wedding belongs to us, just us.

after more than 10 hours of flight, i finally arrived in athens. it was 6am in the morning and the airport was basically empty.... it was kinda scary but i know my friend koye was on his way to pick me up... waited for about 30 mins and he arrived!! we took the subway back to our hotel and immediately I took a shower and then hit the bed...

the hotel is conveniently located near the acropolis and other tourist spots. after a two-hour nap, we immediately headed out to see what athens is all about. it was raining that day, and the sky was grey... but it's okay... we had a great time! :)

the photo is shaky but our hotel got a very nice view of the acropolis... :)
